Unfortunately, Yeah this topic is about ISIS

Slavery, its been a blight on this country for as long as anyone can remember. Although the United States may outlaw slavery certain groups such as ISIS take slaves for their own pleasure. If your a women and thinking about traveling DO NOT GO TO IRAQ, ISIS has been taking women  as sex slaves and abusing them, already there have been many reports from escaped "slaves" about the immoral and disgusting practices of ISIS. I couldn't ignore this considering the fact that even though there are stories about ISIS all over the place this particular one just disgusts me to the point of me wanting to throw up. Heres the usual routine for capture towns and villages, for the men: Convert to islam or die, for the women they had no choice. As soon as they are taken prisoner the women are separated from their families to be sold as sex slaves to ISIS fighters. ISIS has even gone as far to put up guidelines on how to treat and use their women slaves.

A woman named Hanan(Not her real name out of concern for her family members still held by ISIS) was taken as a sex slave and thrown into a warehouse with 50 other women, all of the female occupants were beaten regularly, threatened with torture, and fed one bowl of rice a day. After a while they where taken to a three story house that she claimed held hundreds of women and girls(Some no older than 9) waiting to be sold as slaves to ISIS fighters"They would line about 50 of us up at a time, in rows of 10. They would say don't move, don't cry or we will beat you. The men would come in and describe the kind of girl they wanted and then they would pick and choose as they pleased," she recalls. After being sold she was put into a room with 25 other girls and were then told to clean themselves. Afterwords the ISIS militants brought in a girl who had been with them for two months and she told the others what had been done to her "They beat me, they cuffed me, and then they raped me"

This is just sickening and a reason why ISIS needs to be stopped and although all the stories about ISIS are getting annoying it doesn't mean they should be ignored this is more than enough proof of it, if you want to read more heres the link:

  1. I think its really good that you chose to do a blog for a journalism course on news. I like that I can about something new when I read your blog. And I wouldn't stress doing a post on ISIS too much. If it's important, it's worth writing about. And sex slavery is a huge issue. I didn't know ISIS was doing this until I read this post, which stirred up a lot of feelings in me. It is sickening.
